Drogheda County Louth.
1966 travelled to Luton with twin sister to visit older sister who lived in Luton. We had a job in Luton but wanted to see what the other side was like. We wanted to spread our wings. Within a month we found a job at George Kent making parts for Aeroplanes. We wore overalls and finger stalls to prevent sweat from getting on to the components. I married in 1969 and worked during the evening cleaning offices at George Kent whilst raising my children.
I worked at Five Springs, Lea Manor and Whitefield’s Schools canteens until I was made redundant in 1984.
I then worked for Elm Trees and Westlea Care homes in Luton as a kitchen assistant until I retired.
